Leopard print is something of a classic print, it’s been around forever, but it is also one that evokes a marmite reaction, you either love it or hate it!
Suffice it to say it’s here this season in a big way. You’ll find it hard not to see it either in the shops or within collections online.
If it’s something that you love, here are a few ways that you can wear it:
A dress is a ‘one and done’ item, so is often an easy item of clothing to wear. There are a few options here from the jersey dress from Crew Clothing to the two-tone dress from Phase Eight with it’s black top and leopard print pleated hanky hem skirt which will work well if you want to draw the eye downwards.
Leopard print tops look particularly good if you have some warmth in your colouring, so here are a few options you’ll find in the shops at the moment. You could choose a blouse like these from M&Co or Mint Velvet (the latter also ticking the boho trend), or maybe a cardigan or investment blazer will be offer greater longevity and versatility.
If you have cooler tones in your colouring then the pink, blue or black and white prints like these from Scamp&Dude, Saint Tropez and M&Co will probably suit you better up near your face. If you have brightness to your colouring then you can either layer your animal print with something brighter as I have done in the video below (end of this blog) or maybe choose a bolder animal print like the green top here from M&Co.
If you’d rather wear animal print below your waist, then how about a pair of trousers/jeans? If you want to create balance with your hips maybe a wider leg or straight leg will suit you, like the Zara higher waist knit design or the Next cotton trousers. Or for a skinny fit, you could instead choose the Mint Velvet jeans or Sosandar trousers.
If you enjoy wearing skirts, then how about an ankle grazing maxi skirt – wear with trainers and boots for a more casual look or add a pair of strappy shoes for a more dressy look. They come in an array of fabrics too – satin (Mango), velvet (Albaray), chiffon (Friends Like These) or jersey (Yours Curve).
If you’re not a big fan of leopard print, but fancy giving a nod to the trend then you can always do so in an accessory, like some shoes/boots, a bag or scarf:

There are of course many other prints, so if animal print isn’t for you then quite simply don’t do it! Clothes are 100% about expressing your own unique style.
