Ok, it seems that we’ve had our fill of scorching hot days for a while (wasn’t it nice though?!), so now’s the time to think about your autumn wardrobe. Here’s a quick taster of what’s on the high street and a few of the key trends:
Firstly the monochrome trend continues from summer into autumn, so plenty of opportunity to ‘shop your wardrobe’ and add accessories or layers to create a new autumn look with pieces you already have. Here’s a peplum top from Fenn Wright Manson that would be great for those slightly warmer autumn days.
A pair of wedge boots are a great way to transition into the new season before wearing knee high boots. This pair from LK Bennett would be perfect with trousers or worn in the new way with a dress or skirt.
If you’ve enjoyed the patterned trousers look, then you might like this autumnal combo from Hobbs – the mustard colour would be particularly good on you if you have warm colouring.
Trousers this season are worn on the ankle with a high heel – these grey trousers are a great cut to wear with fitted knitwear or a more voluminous silk shirt.
Finally the big winter coat story is pink and loose fitting as seen at Hobbs. Worn with black and white as here, it stays chic rather than too girly. Do take care with your pinks though – choose fuschia (blue based) pinks if you have cooler skin tones and/or colouring or warmer salmon/blush pinks if you have golden tones to your skin and/or overall colouring. If you’re not sure of the colours that will suit you best, book a colour consultation today … wearing the right colours can honestly make you look healthier, younger and feel fabulous! What’s more, it can save you time and money – no more costly mistakes in your wardrobe!
